Where Hope is Found - Where Faith Can Grow and Where Love Abounds

Webster's Dictionary defines the word "church" as, "A house consecrated to the worship of God among Christians." That is certainly true, but there is much more implied in the word "church" than simply a place to worship God. Raphine Christian Church wants to be your church and more! The church is not simply a building, Christians are the church, "the called out ones."

Raphine Christian Church offers hope in a world where hope seems to be in short supply today. It is not "pie-in-the-sky" hope, but genuine hope based upon the promises of God. RCC wants to share that hope with you.

Raphine Christian Church seeks to be a warm and loving place, where you can come out of the storm and into the presence of God and His children. RCC is a place where encouragement takes place, where we support each other and build each other up. We don't tear each up apart as the world so often does. We are a spiritual refueling station.

Please come as you are and join us this Sunday as we grow in our faith together and share in the mercies of God's Son, Jesus Christ.

SUMMER IS HERE!

Summer is upon us and our outdoor activities increase in proportion to the length of a day. There are vacations to take, grass to cut, outside work to be done on the house, family reunions and weddings to attend, and the list goes on. The grilling season is upon us! Summer is catch-up time.

Unfortunately, summer can squeeze our time in such a way that if we are not careful, we will start making excuses for not coming to church on Sunday. We will rationalize our absence from church until the cows come home. Why, we are just too busy and besides, we will make it up in the fall.

I ask you to keep a couple of things in mind: First, God does not take the summer off and leave the universe to run on its own accord. Second, the church does not close down for the summer. There is still the need for ministry. People go to the hospital, folks get married, and yes, some die and funerals are required. Through the summer the Word of God is still proclaimed, and although we don’t like to mention it, bills still have to be paid and missions supported.

As King Solomon discovered, life that is not centered on God is meaningless and has no purpose.  Only God can truly satisfy our thirsty souls. So yes, we can become very busy this summer running from place to place and doing every activity under the sun. And we are not saying it is bad to do things and go places in the summer. However, what we are saying is that God deserves our attention as well.  Hebrews 10:25 warns, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” We at Raphine Christian Church hope you will join us every Sunday this summer as we worship Jesus Christ and celebrate His gift of eternal life to us.
